JEWELLERY CARE & REPAIRS

HANDLING
The Graphic Line jewellery is carefully made by hand and while some pieces are solid shapes and don’t bend or break easily, most of the pieces (the modular line as well as the pop colours in particular) are not. These are slightly delicate due to their construction in wire and should be treated with care so you can enjoy them for a long time.

TARNISHING
Sterling Silver naturally oxidises and tarnishes with wear and contact to air, so we recommend storing your piece in its original box when not in use.

Exposure to water and heat will accelerate the formation of patina. This is a natural process and there is nothing wrong with the piece once it darkens, it can always be returned to the original colour and shine.

Most people say the best way to keep your silver pieces looking bright is simply to wear them as much as possible!

CLEANING & STORAGE
Invest in a jewellery polishing cloth (available at most drug and hardware stores) and always wipe the piece down after wearing it to remove any dirt, chemicals or fingerprints. To further delay natural oxidisation store your pieces in a dry place, away from sunlight, and in separate boxes, wraps or zip lock bags. This helps avoid contact with other jewellery and objects which can scratch and damage a piece. Jewellery should be kept flat to avoid tangling, kinks and bending.

We do not recommend using cleaning solutions, a polishing cloth will more than suffice. Do not use force when cleaning. Place the piece on a flat surface and carefully buff the silver until it is bright and shiny.

If your piece gets overly dirty, you can clean it using warm water, a gentle dish soap and a very soft rag or extra soft toothbrush. Do not leave the piece submerged in water. Make sure the piece is rinsed well and dried completely.

Jewellery that has been cleaned and thoroughly dried should be stored in its box to delay oxidisation. Don’t leave your pieces out in direct sunlight or store them in the bathroom.

OXIDISED SILVER
Oxidised silver has been treated with a chemical solution to give a dark grey/black finish. This does wear away over time, particularly in exposed areas which adds to the character of the piece. Do not place oxidised silver items in a silver dip or use a silver cloth as this will remove the oxidisation.

TIPS ON WEARING
We recommend you remove your jewellery when showering, washing your hands, swimming and exercising. Water, steam and humidity can affect the metal.

Avoid inadvertently spraying the piece with hairspray, perfume and deodorant. Remove your jewellery before applying lotion or sunscreen and dry the piece completely if it gets wet.

These steps will go a really long way towards maintaining the look and life of your piece.
